Free D&D
I am delighted that recently WotC and Hasbro made the decision to release SRD 5.1 into the Creative Commons. This decision was largely a response to the backlash by fans, players, game masters, and content creators when WotC and Hasbro attempted to put forth and OGL license which would have been detrimental to the entire TTRPG gamespace. While there may be many reasons to remain vigilant, our beloved hobby is for now protected and available to be joined by anyone and everyone. It is my hope that we will now see an renewed renaissance of Table Top Gaming innovation as even more independant creators share their vision for the future. My own contributions are nothing special; I simply write easy adventures based on a standard template, but I hope that what I do might inspire others. Many people are still wary of the intentions of Hasbro and WotC, and rightfully so, but I feel that the release of 5.1 into the Creative Commons is sufficent to show the goodwill of the company going forward. But I may be full of naiveté. Regardless, the communty is as strong and untied as ever and that is good. I will continue making adventures compatible for 5e and I will be developing my own system and adventures for that system. Thanks for stopping by.
